Ashworth College offers career training as a Health Records Manager. This program incorporates several different healthcare industry skill assets, including: medical terminology; organizing a patient chart; complying with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); working with health insurance carriers and claims; and utilizing electronic medical records systems in hospitals and physician offices. The student learns how to collect, assemble, and file the contents of a medical record, as well as how to analyze a medical record for physician notations.

The benefits to Ashworth College career training is that the cost includes all miscellaneous educational expenditures, such as supplies and texts. The program is offered at $39/month, so that students can afford to attend postsecondary education even in the difficult times of the recession.

The Health Records Management program is done online over the course of nine sessions. It prepares the student for an occupation on one of the following healthcare sectors:

• Emergency facilities
• Nursing homes
• Outpatient centers

Students receive an accredited diploma. Ashworth College’s accreditation is done through the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).
