The American University of Antigua (AUA) School of Nursing is an international leader in healthcare education and the healthcare industry. AUA recognizes the nationwide shortage of nurses and is committed to alleviating this situation through the School of Nursing program.
AUA is the first US-modeled medical program in the Caribbean that is hospital-integrated, delivering clinical experience to its students in the first semester. Students interact with patients of all ages, taking their physical examinations at the school’s ICM lab on campus. The third and fourth semester students attend autopsies at the hospital during a pathology course.
The American University of Antigua (AUA) School of Nursing offers a unique, multi-level nursing degree option (ASN and RN-BSN) to accomodate to the needs of students applying for academies with hospital integration. Through an affliation with Lehman College City Unversity of New York (CUNY), students that complete the ASN program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination – Regustered Nurse (NXCLEX-RN) qualify for entrance into the Lehman (CUNY) RN-BSN program. This program is accreditted by the Comission on College Nursing Education (CNNE), the most recognized accreditator in the nursing field.
